Closest focus
is only 11cm from outermost edge of the lens, F 8. Focus on the program wheel of the camera.

A very nice lens, even wide open. At F 2.8 it's a bit soft. At F 8 it's very good in my opinion. It has astonishing capabilities of close focussing for such a wide lens. Carefully aligned there is no distortion. At F 22 however it's a bit blurred due to diffraction, but less than other lenses. This is a problem of the APS-C sensor size, not the lens (see comparison page).
